What are Psych2Go downloads and what do they include?

Psych2Go is a series of audio downloads for busy students who want to master introductory psychology “on the go.” You can use these downloads to reinforce your reading, prepare for exams, or review a concept you find particularly difficult. Psych2Go contains the following components for each chapter of the textbook:

 

  • Reviews2Go Chapter summaries that convey the key concepts and themes and encourage you to think critically about the material you have read. Each review is approximately 20-25 minutes in length and contains integrated self-check questions.
  • Quizzes2Go Comprehensive assessments that help you identify what you know well and what you need to study in more depth.
  • Flashcards2Go Vocabulary “drills” that test you on all the key terms of a particular chapter.

    How much do Psych2Go downloads cost?

    Buy only what you need, when you need it. You can purchase a single download—a review, quiz, or set of flashcards—for 99 cents or upgrade to a textbook’s-worth of reviews, quizzes, and flashcards for 9.99.

    How is Psych2Go tied to my textbook?

    All components of Psych2Go incorporate some textbook material (such as end-of-chapter summaries or review questions) as well as original content from the author of the Psych2Go materials. The Psych2Go “scripts” are then recorded by professional voices selected to appeal to listeners.

    Is this product intended to replace the textbook?

    No. The audio material in Psych2Go is meant to reinforce the textbook, not replace it. Psych2Go is primarily a tool for exam preparation and review, so you should choose the components (Reviews, Quizzes, or Flashcards) that work best for your learning style and use them “on the go.”

    Can I listen to a sample before purchasing the content?

    Yes. Simply click on your book in the carousel on the Psych2Go home page, then click the “Listen to Sample” button. A FREE CHAPTER is also available for every book offered on the Psych2Go web site. To download your free chapter, select your book in the carousel and click “View Downloads.” Your free chapter will be unlocked and ready for download.

    I am an instructor and would like to review all Psych2Go content for a particular title. How can I get access?

    Instructors can preview all Psych2Go content for a particular title by either 1) registering as an instructor through the Psych2Go site (see below) or 2) asking their Bedford, Freeman, and Worth sales representative to sample them access to the Psych2Go site.

     

    If you are an instructor considering assigning Psych2Go to your students, click “Instructor Register” and enter your information. We must then verify your status as an instructor before granting you access to the Psych2Go content, which can take 24 to 48 hours.     *Please note that because of the nature of this product, we cannot permit you to share the files with your students. You may direct them to the site and to the free chapter downloads, but they must purchase the content on their own.

    Why do I need to enable pop-up messages (cookies) in order to access the Psych2Go site?

    Visitors to the Psych2Go site must deactivate their pop-up blockers or enable cookies in order to access the site. To disable your pop-up blocker and enable cookies, follow the steps for your specific browser:

     

    Google Chrome

     

    Google Chrome automatically blocks pop-ups from showing up automatically. You can choose whether you want to see pop-up notifications:

     

    1. Click the wrench menu.

    2. Select Options.

    3. Click the Under the Hood tab.

    4. If you want to see pop-ups, select the 'Notify me when a pop-up is blocked' checkbox.

    5. Click Close.

     

    Internet Explorer 6.0

     

    1. Under Tools in the toolbar, select "Pop-up Blocker"

    2. Opt to "Turn off pop-up blocker" from the slide-out menu.

    3. Click the Privacy tab, located in “Internet Options” in the Tools menu.

    4. Click the Default button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium").

    5. Click the OK button.

    6. Reload the page.

     

    Internet Explorer 7.0

     

    1. Under Tools in the toolbar, select "Pop-up Blocker"

    2. Opt to "Turn off pop-up blocker" from the slide-out menu.

    1. Open the Tools menu and click on Options.

    2. Select the “Content” icon in the list on the left to remove the checkmark from beside the “Block Popup Windows” option.

    3. Click the Privacy icon.

    4. Select the "Accept cookies from sites" checkbox.

    5. Click the OK button.

    6. Reload the page.

     

    Mozilla Firefox (for Macs)

     

    1. Open Mozilla menu and select the Preferences option.

    2. In the window that displays, click on the “Content” option to remove the checkmark from “Block pop-up Windows” option.

    3. Click the Privacy icon.

    4. Select the "Accept cookies from sites" checkbox.

    5. Close the window.

    6. Reload the page.

     

    Safari

     

    1. Open the Safari menu and select the settings option in the upper right-hand corner. (It looks like a gear.)

    2. In the window that displays, click “Block Pop-Up Windows” to remove the checkmark.

    3. Click “Preferences” and select the “Security” tab.

    4. Next to “Web Content,” uncheck “Block Pop-Up Windows.” In the "Accept Cookies" section, select Always.

    5. Close the “Preferences” window.

    6. Reload the page.

    How do I purchase and begin using Psych2Go?

    You must be a registered user to purchase Psych2Go downloads. To register, click “Student Register” in the top, right-hand corner of the home page. Enter your information in the required fields and click “Submit.” Return to the home page and log in with your Psych2Go username and password.

     

    To begin purchasing Psych2Go downloads, select your book from the carousel and click “View Downloads.” You can pick and choose from the available chapters of Psych2Go downloads, each of which is 99 cents. Or, you can click “Add Suite to Cart” to purchase all available content for your book for just 9.99.

     

    Once you have added the content you wish to purchase to your cart, click “Check Out” to complete the purchase process. At the end of the purchase process, make sure you click the “Click here to complete your transaction” button. Your purchased items will now be unlocked on the menu page for your book and ready for listening or downloading.

    I purchased Psych2Go content but it’s not showing up. What can I do?

    You may not have clicked the button that says "Click here to complete your transaction." If you have purchased Psych2Go downloads but they are not unlocked upon logging into the site with your username and password, please contact Bedford, Freeman, and Worth Technical Support at techsupport@bfwpub.com or 1-800-936-6899.

    I do not like or no longer need my Psych2Go downloads. Can I have a refund?

    Because of the downloadable nature of this product, refunds will only be granted in the event of an exceptional technical malfunction. Please direct all requests for refund to Bedford, Freeman, and Worth Technical Support at techsupport@bfwpub.com or 1-800-936-6899.
